Dr. Angelica Catusco
OTD, OTR/L, CDP — FOUNDER & OWNER

Dr. Angelica Catusco is the Founder and Owner of The Dementia Docs, a concierge, wellness-centered occupational therapy and dementia consulting practice.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science from the University of Arizona, with an emphasis in development and aging and a minor in psychology. She later completed her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Kean University.

Her professional background includes years in inpatient rehabilitation, shaping her function-first, whole-person approach to care. Today, Angelica focuses on nationwide dementia consulting, caregiver education, and program development aimed at improving quality of life, safety, and care sustainability.

During her doctoral residency, Dr. Catusco developed Empowering Community Caregivers — an evidence-based occupational therapy model focused on improving caregiver quality of life nationwide. Rooted in the Seven Dimensions of Wellness, the program combined individualized therapy, structured strategy, and group support to promote sustainability and advocacy.

For over three years, she has partnered with universities and hospitals as a consultant, educator, and systems strategist.

Outside of work, Angelica enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing hot yoga, attending live music events, and exploring new places through travel.

I watched my mother manage a full-time career, household responsibilities, and complex healthcare advocacy simultaneously. I saw the strain. I saw the sacrifice. I saw the silence around caregiver support. When I later learned that dementia caregivers experience higher mortality rates than the individuals they care for — it solidified my mission.

How We Practice

The principles that guide everything we do — from clinical care to community education

We Stay Grounded

calm, steady, and ready

We bring a calm, steady, and compassionate presence to every interaction — holistic, relational, intuitive, and deeply human, while remaining anchored in advanced clinical expertise.

We Honor the Whole Person

Holisitic approach

Our care supports body, mind, spirit, and environment, and intentionally extends to families and caregivers. We blend clinical precision with soulful compassion.

We Practice with Intention

Everyone is familt

Every client, every treatment plan, and every interaction is approached thoughtfully. Nothing we do is rushed or generic. We create care experiences that are purposeful, attentive, and deeply supportive.

consistency always wins

We Bring Clinical Excellence

Best-in-class

Our success is grounded in advanced training, professional recognition, strong referral relationships, and university partnerships. We pair expertise with humanity — because clinical excellence without compassion is incomplete.
